In this section we will give you an exclusive video tour of our fully automated home theatre.  People often assume that building a home theatre in your home is very expensive and they don't even bother looking into it. Of course for those with money to spare the sky can be the limit by investing in all the high end gear and construction. By the time you’re done you could be spending 100s of thousands or even millions of dollars.  However, the good news is that you can also have a very descent home theatre and for a lot less.  One of the biggest money grabbers is the equipment but with advances in today’s technology you can get great performance hardware and for a very reasonable price.  We can help you choose the equipment that’s right for you.  To get you inspired below is clip of our home theatre and demonstration on how a touch of a single button on the cleverly programmed Logitech Harmony Remote can start your entire movie experience.  Furthermore that very same remote control all your equipment and even lights without you ever having to leave your seat.  Did we mention that it is very affordable?

Now that you get the general idea we’re going break down some of the elements for you.  When we were first brainstorming about we wanted our home theatre to be, first we knew that we wanted a front projector so to have more options as far as the screen size.  Secondly, we wanted our room to be fully automated for ease of use and finally as clean as possible.  The goal was for a seamless blend of design and technology.  When dealing with our front speakers and sub woofer we hid them in a specially built enclosure under our screen.  This enclosure has been fitted with a sound passing fabric which (unless you get to close) completely conceals the speakers without skimping on the sound quality.  See below.

As mentioned we didn’t want any of our equipment to be visible including any of its wiring.  So we created a cavity behind one of the panels at the front left side of our room.  Furthermore, the back of the equipment can be accessed via an adjacent storage room for connection purposes and maintenance.&nbps; Again you can go as expensive as you but the equipment used here is very affordable such as Sony AV Receiver as well as Sony DVD/Blu-Ray player and Technics Equalizers, etc.

In this next clip you get see the overview of our home theatre design.  So to not be limited by the screen size the clear choice for us was a front projector, but with this choice there are certain considerations.  Fourthmost, is that the room where your home theatre will be has to be completely dark with windows if any also covered.  So if you were thinking of poainting your room with bright and flashy colors this just won’t do.  The reason being is that when your walls are white for example the light bouncing of your screen will hit the walls and bounce back to your screen.  This extra light hitting your screen will cause the picture to be washed out and lacking in contrast.  You should also avoid paint with glossy finish.  In addition we discourage from hanging posters in your theatre particularly any that will be in between you and the screen.  These will cause unnecessary and distracting reflections taking away from your viewing experience.  For our home theatre we went one step further by angling our walls and outfitting them with carpet type material to improve in room acoustics.  Near the back of the room is our projector enclosed in custom casing.  Since, our projector is a heavy commercial unit we chose to position it on the floor and incorporate it as part of our table.  Finally, the surround speakers (part of 6.1) have been incorporated into the back walls.  In conclusion when we designed our theatre simple opoeration was very important but equally important was to a achieve a seamless blend between design and technology.

Now for the fun part, the design is finished and all the equipment has been connected what’s left is to fire this baby up! But, wait a minute are those five remotes I see in front of me? Okay, so this one turns on my TV or projector and switches the inputs.  Next I’ll use this one to turn on my receiver but why is there no sound? Oh, stupid me I forgot to switch the audio input on my receiver.  There we go, okay so let’s try to change the channel, man oh man why isn’t that working now? Doh! My TV is connected to the cable box so I have to use it’s remote instead the TVs.  Boring! There is nothing good on TV this evening so I think I pop in that Blu-ray movie I just bought.  So again I will use the TV remote to switch the input for my Blu-Ray player, now I’ll switch over my receiver for the proper audio input with its remote.  Now all I need is the Blu-Ray remote to start my movie and I’m golden.   The movie was great but now do I really need to use three remotes to turn all this stuff off? Man this is such a chore, good thing I wrote it all down cause I’ll never remember it for when my guests arrive for a movie night tomorrow.  Fast forward to next evening, I could’ve sworn I left these instructions here on the coffee table, have you kids seen them? No, maybe the dog took em.  Oops! The good news is that if you invest in just one more remote you’ll be able to put all those other away and fire up all of your equipment with the touch of a single button.  Yes you did read that correctly.  We’re talking about the Harmony Remote by Logitech.  The remote requires some clever programming which isn’t easy but hey that’s what we’re for.  Once programmed however, the operation is so simple a caveman could do it.  If you want to watch TV, you press the "Watch TV" button and if you’re in the mood for a movie you press the "Watch a movie".  The remote will send individual signals to your equipment switching inputs and hitting play on your Blu-ray player, etc.  Once it’s done, it will switch itself over so you can seamlessly control all your compoenents without having to revert to the original remotes.  How sweet is that? Just think about it, one very easy to use advanced remote versus the five remote shuffle.  I think we can guess with certainty which way you’re leaning and what’s better that it doesn’t have to stop there.  The remote can also control your lighting, blinds, even turn on your coffee maker.  All this power at the palm of your hand and for a very reaosnable price.

Once you finished watching TV or your movie, by pressing single power button you can easily turn off your entire system.  In addition it can start a chain of events that may consist of your lights fading in and curtains closing, etc.  All this is possible thanks to the Logitech Harmony Remote cleverly programmed by our team of experts.
